Iwata announces the company’s rumored new DS handheld, called “DS-i.
That’s from the live blog at IGN. Meaning new DS is confirmed. Told ya it woudl happen haha

Meanwhile, you’ll be able to buy and download games to internal memory using “Nintendo Points. ---

Software will be separated into four categories: Free, 200 Points, 500 Points and Premium (800 Points). Nintendo is offering 1,000 free Points through March of 2010.
Nervin yea I’m wondering how GH is going to work on the DS or not. Or how to play old school games. But I guess that’s what the download service is for and I’m guessing the GH thing can be adapted for the SD card slot or something. ---

American date will probably be announced when the American conference happens. ---

Also, as I predicted, they’re now going to do a demo of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, the new DS slash Wii game.
Haha I had no idea they’d preview 3rd party games here haha. ---

They are introducing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, a game that is playable on both Wii and DS — similar, we suppose, to a title like Four Swords. ---
