seventh playstation graphics were only 2 times better than snes since snes was 16 bits and ps1 was 32 and the n64 graphics were 2 times better than ps1 since ps1 had 32 bits and n64 had 64 bits duh...

nintendo is a game company which is why it “makes” the best games...sony and microsoft are essentially hardware companys which is why they rely mostly on 3rd party developers to make there software.
just think about it for a second shigeru miyamoto the guy who thought up donkey konk/mario/zelda/nevermind because this list could go on forever but he is the producer or director behind almost every nintendo exclusive game such as metroid prime, zelda, mario ect...but anyway he doesnt want to make violent games...but he could if he wanted and if he did everyone would be back with nintendo which is sad...does violence really sell games? sure it does, alot of simple minded people buy right into violent things but if ur not shallow minded u will see that graphics/violence doesnt matter if a game is fun than its fun.

“He is not helping things," says Seamus Blackley, the former head of Microsoft’s Xbox team who now runs the Capital Entertainment Group, an independent production company. Blackley is in Makuhari, Japan, on the final day of September’s Tokyo Games Show. He speaks for many game designers raised on Miyamoto’s innovations - developers who admire the master’s work but are desperate for something new.
“At this point," Blackley continues, “Miyamoto is making games for his fans. Granted, there are millions of them, and it’s smart business, but most are kids. He’s not opening up adult audiences. He’s reinforcing stereotypes about games, not pushing them to a place where they can become something different and truly awesome."
What especially frustrates Blackley is the sense that Miyamoto could take gaming to the next level: “There isn’t anyone on the planet better at lasering into the lizard brain, that eye-attached-to-your-hand-attached-to-your-brain thing that makes it impossible to stop playing. GTA3 is good, but it’s not revolutionary. What Miyamoto could bring to a game like that would be incredible."
But Miyamoto’s interests and inspirations lie elsewhere. While GTA3 draws heavily on gangster films like Goodfellas and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Miyamoto cites the French production Amelie and a Chinese film whose title translates to something like The Postman in the Mountains. “Most of what you see is beautiful nature scenery," he says. “I was very moved."

i am soooooooooooooooo sick of xbox fans goin on about halo 3. Halo 1,2 are the most overrated games in history. i have both xbox and ps2 and halo 1 and 2 are nothing more than a typical first person shooter. however, games such as GT4 and GTA SA and many others are very good games. If halo 3 is the best xbox 360 has to offer than i will stay with PS3
Yes, GTA. They just keep upgrading them over and over! WOW the graphics sure look nice on san andreas. What a load of bullshit. They look the same as GTA 3. ALl you get each time is a different locale, weapons, and greater placs to explore. The only thing that they upgraded in vice city was hmmm a motorcycle and the ability to own property. OMG WOW. Im not saying they arent fun games but really, they are basically all the same. “Halo is one of the most overrated games” Lemme guess, you dont own an xbox. Sure, the PS fanboys greatest comeback, halo is overrated. Halo kicks the shit out of san andreas. Look at the sales. Dont say san andreas sold more, it didnt, it sold more before christmas because it came out a month earlier. Plus there is no online, no graphics upgrade or anything. PS fans cannot accept the FACT that halo is the best fps out there. I love my GTA, but dont say it kicks halo’s ass, because that is just a sad excuse for having no decent FPS’s
Personaly I just love Nintendo, mainly because it was the entry point into the gaming world for most of us. But I also love Playstation.
Watch one of these days nintendo and sony are gona create a console called “N-Station” Just to kill microsoft out of the market.
I had Xbox for many reason, mainly just because its a 100kg box with a controller the size of my face. Also how they would have gone under if they didn’t come out with XBox live, The program that makes you pay them monthly to make peer to peer gaming. I know they came out with a smaller controller, but its still ugly.

Oh, and how can you say that 360 has no good games? look at the list on ign.com. Then take a look at PS3’s lineup. O wow killzone 2. HMMM the first one was a sack of shit and the second looks pretty good considering ITS A FUCKING CGI DEMO. There is no comparison between 360 games and PS3 games becuase as of now they kick the list PS3’s ass. But, i will give sony the benefit of the doubt. They have a year till launch whereas 360 has 6 months. But seriously stop making bogus claims.

ITs great how everyone is buying into the hype about the PS3. Just great. Did you people learn nothing about the PS2? Yes we really got those toy story like graphics and the emotion engine really kicked some...wait..none of that happened. Every generation Sony has a less powerful machine than its competitors but here we are surrounded by idiots claiming the new PS will be more powerful. YUp, third times a charm. What fucking idiots. If anyone knew how to analyze specs and would stop shooting off things they know nothing about they would realize that PS3 sucks when it comes to gaming. It has no hard drive, no branch predictor, terraflops only account for 20% of all real gaming, no embedded 10 MB DRAM, less powerful GPU than 360 (based off the g70 coming out this year, no GPU as poweful as the 360’s will be out till 2007), loss of first party support from their two best titles (i.e. GTA and FF) But yes, all hail PS3, what a fabulously crappy machine.
people are kind of slwo. people say they don’t want to hear about halo 1,2,or 3. but then they go on and talk about gta and killzone. that has to be the dumbest thing ever. halo 1, and 2 are great video games and if you don’t think so look at the numbers. halo 2 has sold a lot more copies than any other game ever. i am excited about the NR i can’t stand ps3. i think it looks so shitty. the controller is a joke. the x360 is going to be better in every way. sony just spent the money to make it seem like it was a more powerful. xbox spent the money where it counts. you can’t say that ps3 is going to win because it is more powerful. look what happened to xbox and the ps2. the xbox was a lot more powerful and it didn’t do as well as the ps2. i think people just like sony because it’s sony. i hate everything about sony. it sucks and i will neve buy anything that is sony. my #1 pick is x360 and then my #2 is NR. and to jump back to the halo games. i work at best buy and when i see someone buying an xbox the game that they have in their hand is halo 2 and in most cases halo 1 too. the only reason why i would even think about buying a ps2 is for god of war. sony has a lot more games but most of them suck. MS has lot less but most of them are really good. so i am saying that xbox 360 is the better one and then NR. ps3 is at the very bottom. when it get’s to $99 then i will probably get one.
