UBER 1337 Poster Rep: 13  Joined: 28 Jan 2006 Posts: 2,019 OFFLINE | technically, Killzone 2 is superior than GOW2. all GOW2 is is low poly counts with normal bitmapping which enables more polys to be on screen. don’t get me wrong, the end result makes the game look good, but that’s about it. and besides, pictures can only tell so much. it’s when it’s in motion when it counts. judging from multiple in-game videos of both games, KZ2’s lighting looks more natural, the environments seem more enveloping and the artistic palette brings more of a dramatic feel to the game. another thing is that the game is being pushed back to Feb. of next year only because of Resistance 2 being released, which means that Guerrilla has tons of time to polish the living shit out of the game. ---

but the problem with low polys is that you can’t manipulate them as much as you could with something that has more poly’s. for example, a biscep wouldn’t be able to flex the way it should if you use only 6 polys. it’ll suck balls. another thing is when an object is actually in motion, you can tell the difference in an object with more polys when it comes to edges and smoothness. you can’t fake a circle with a square. ---
