Vampire is a word used to describe any creature that drinks the blood of a host. Although, some objects can be described as vampiric, usually in fantasy video games though.

Vampires have a long Linage starting with The Vlad the Impaler who is considered the first vampire. He used to skewer his captives on massive wooden stakes and was said to drink their blood as the withered in agony.
