I was just wondering why everyone keeps comparing games to halo. I love gaming, so i can’t pick one game from another, but if people keep talking about this game, then you have to see how many people actually like it vs. the amount of people who actually don’t.
Yes it did,for me. I had no shooters that much fun, before I got halo, I was seond rate at everything I did, until I got halo, my friends never played video games, before I got halo, I had never seen rechargeable energy shields before, until I got halo, I had never flown a video game aircraft before, until I got halo, I had never driven a videogame vehicle before, until I got halo. Now tell me it didn’t revolutionize games, if halo didn’t, then what did?

Man im not gonna argue anymore. Look into what your disscussing befor you talk. You’ve been living under a rock. Halo was not the first with flying aircrafts or cars. You being second rate until you got halo really doesn’t say anything good about halo, it says you are a second rate person. As far as recharable sheilds, those are for halo, but it is not something that people would buy the game for.
the halo vs (place game here) consists of people that like one game over the other go to halo vs metroid and u will see that there arent many metroid fans talking about halo they are mostly talking about metroid and vice versa its not that they like halo in there subconcsious (if thats even how its spelled) its that they like supporting the game that they like.whats wrong with that? some people like me enjoy both metroid and halo im not hiding that fact but i like metroid better so whats wrong with posting why i like it better?

Same here...Half-Life 2 is actually the best FPS every made. Halo is good but I hate it because of the overratingness and it just drives me crazy! Halo revolutionized things yes...but not by much. I think it’s such a big deal because it’s Microsoft. If it were on the PS2 no one would care.

It revolutionized The FPS genre for it being the first successful FPS on a console, (not counting golden eye)
And for its controls, and for its story.

That doesn’t mean it would have been such a big deal. It really a huge deal because it’s MS. Everyone’s becoming a bunch of MS bitches. It’s really getting annoying. I like the Xbox but it’s going too far.

halo is just one of those legendary games. there is something about it that gives it almost unparalleled addictive game play. there are better games, and peoples view of it is a bit overrated, but it made fps games into the popular type of game it is now.

Anywho, even though this topic is as old as hell... I’ll give my views of the subject just for the heck of it.
Halo revolutionized the way people saw FPS', where it lacks in story, it makes up for in quality. Even with me being slightly anti-Microsoft, I admit to just how great this game truly was. Not only did it give us a larger variety of weaponry and bigger maps than any other FPS before it, but it also gave us an entirely new experience of gameplay and a new perspective of what a FPS should be.
Halo won’t be one of those games that people still play twenty years from now, but it will be a game that will be remembered for as long as gaming exists.
