the magazine was pre alpha
am I the only one here who knows the graphics stages?
its the very first stages where they use the graphics from the previous game, and use it in halo 3, just so its playable, the next stage is alpha, where they start creating the new graphics
Beta, is where the do the finishing touches, and fix up a few things, then theres marketing version

yes it did,for me.i had no shooters that much fun, before i got halo,i was seond rate at everything i did, until i got halo,my friends played video games, before i got halo,i had never seen rechargeable energy shields before, until i got halo,i had never flown a video game aircraft before, until i got halo,i had never driven a videogame vehicle before, until i got halo, now tell me it didn’t revolutionize games,if halo didn’t,then what did?
that b tru bruh, until i got halo, i didn’t even like playing fps, halo iz da shiz, i love shooting those fucked up little parasites, and da alienz. also, it got a good story..that just my opinion..
Just thought i should leave my comments here, amongst you seasoned gamers.
I don’t reckon that cos someone can play HALO, but can’t play other games, indicates HALO is bad/too easy, or anything like that. To me, HALO just plays perfectly. No movement delay etc., that’s a killer of any game for me - really hate it. You need to be able to shoot & move without question, with no silly controls involved.
HALO, to most i have spoken to, just happens to have the following stuff:
Excellent control - it moves the way you need, 90% of players said so (i asked 10 game players u c? )
Good grafix - the scenery varies just enough to keep you thinkin “whats in there? whats that over in that cave?" etc.
Sound - is cool, but then thats not much to mention (sound’s easy in makin games - wanna good scream?, go beat on someone & record it )
Storyline - some people LIVE the game (a cool way to be), but others dont care, they Just Play It......
Another one i like, is WILL ROCK (am the only person to have played/heard of that?). Just pure violent fun !
I don’t think anyone should dislike HALO just cos MS sell it - it’s not like bill gates and 5 staff sat down and made the thing, games designers (totally different thing) made HALO, not the windows makers (windows? urgh, dont get me started!)
P.S. ive been a programmer - 1981-2003. anybody else done anythin like that? (just curious).
(excuse the really non-existent avatar etc., just passin by)

EDIT Just fixing some spelling and grammatical errors
you want a revolutianary game, play half life 1 or half life 2 ON A PC XBOX SUX
HAHAHA for some reason I found that very, very, funny.
Anywho, even though this topic is as old as hell... I’ll give my views of the subject just for the heck of it.
Halo revolutionized the way people saw FPS', where it lacks in story, it makes up for in quality. Even with me being slightly anti-Microsoft, I admit to just how great this game truly was. Not only did it give us a larger variety of weaponry and bigger maps than any other FPS before it, but it also gave us an entirely new experience of gameplay and a new perspective of what a FPS should be.
Halo won’t be one of those games that people still play twenty years from now, but it will be a game that will be remembered for as long as gaming exists.
