humans are forerunners. easy as that. why did truth need sgnt johnson to activate the rings? why is guilty spark calling them reclaimers? the other one... penitent tangiant i believe states “A reclaimer? here?" and then some more about work that needed to be done. and why the hell do all the covenant speak english?? because the forerunners did! the forerunners were english speaking humans. also all the halos terrains resemble that of earths. earth is the portal to the arc to activate the rings. the chief and/or johnson are descendants (well, more direct ones) of the forerunners. truth mentions that johnson is one of the only ones who could activate it. Truth was saying how johnson had sympathy or whatever and that he saw why the forerunners had forsaken him or something... when you beat halo 2 they ask where to go to activate all the rings. guilty spark acts like they should know and after looking between the two he states “Why, the arc, of course” almost in disbelief that they hadn’t known. all in all, it is this. the forerunners were humans and the covenant either didn’t know, or forgot. thats why they attacked earth. thats why they speak english... it all fits

Ok heres the deal, The forunners are humans before biblical times, Adam and Eve were the ones that survived the halo’s firing, all humans are forunner decendants, which is why they can activate the rings and the prophets can’t. At the end of the game 343 Guilty Spark tells the MC that he is a forunner in game and after the credits if you beat it on legendary MC and Cortana crash land on ONYX where Dr. Hasley and the other spartans are. Also the rings were built millenia ago and Akerland had nothing to do about it. Hes not that smart and UNSC forces dont have the technology to build a ring or the people needed. I just ruined all the books and the game, have fun with your new knowledge.

The Translations were wrong the covenant took it as people were the forerunners, thats why in Halo 3 they kidnapped Sargent Major Johnson. But intead Master Chief “aka John, The Deamon, The Reclaimer” is a forerunner, the forerunners are spartans, thats why 343 Guilty Spark “the monitor calls him that"

I played halo 1-3 and in halo 3 you find terminal computers made by the forerunners they explain things. from what i see the forerunners were humans and they tried to make a perfect being but it came out as the flood, so they made lots of halo rings and the arc also some shield insulations to destroy the flood. the forerunner made these shield planets like onyx to protect them from the rings if they got activated. One time the rings got activated and the flood got destroyed and all the other life except the ones in the shields. The flood that were on halo didn’t get affected for some reason and when the covenet fount halo rings they found the flood and the whole halo series started.

What i think i know about the fore runner lore and history is, well that they were high technological but anyways, they are seemed as demi gods by the prophets and that they built the halos for weapons as cortana says in halo 3: “i am your shield, i am you sword”, which means, swords are stuff is the ark and the halo rings, onyx, the planet created by fore runners also called, shield world, were made to be the last weapons of choice, so they thought that they could kill the flood by killing them self by firing the halo rings, and they all reached through out the galaxy so that none survived and if there were any type of flood spores survivors, they would starv to death, which they didn’t.
