Oh that would be cool playing as a forerunner warrior like MC and the Arbiter, except with armor similar to the Elite’s since the Covies stole their technology from the forerunners.
The prophets were a race that used to be involved in some huge war against the forerunners. The prophets won the war against the forerunners, but some small groups survived in the galaxy. The prophets made the covenant to find these stragglers. Over time, they forgot who the forerunners were, and this 'prophecy' came about instead. The prophets never knew why the forerunners built the rings, and mistook them for religious icons. They thought they built the rings to try and escape from the prophets ( the 'Great Journet'), when the rings were designed to end the war. The flood were a part of this in that they were a biological weapon created by one side, probably the prophets to destroy their enemies.
The humans are actually descendants of the forerunners, survivors of the war who were left over at the end. The prophets, who lied to the rest of the covenant, are actually trying to wipe out the humans, who they see as the last of the forerunners, so that they can go on the 'great journey'.
thats very interesting actually. the humans are for sure decendants from the forerunners. as mercy says in halo2 “this time none of you will be left behind” im guessing what happend wasthe rings dint all actually go off the first time. also the arc is earth for any1 that wants to know, dont question me either i read all 3 books, 8 spartans are left.
here is what i think is going on, and just a few facts. colonol akerson who never supported the spartans is doing somthing in deep uncharted space, special operation. he has either found one of the halo installations or mb he is building one? i dunno. i am almost certain the humans are the forerunners, simply because of regrets comment and the fact the only reason the cov attacked earth or even found it is because its the arc.! earth is the arc thats why the cov dint expect humans their because they found the coordinates on the artifacts found deep below reeches surface in the ancient forrunner area, which ackerson knew about i think. so somthing is going on. all i know is that, fred, linda, will, kelly, and john plus 3 other spartans who coulldent meet on reach due to other operations are aive. 8 spartans are out there people! and ill join ur bungie group, give me the link.
also in halo2 if any1 noticed in new mombassa the library at the center of the city looks stragly familiar to the buildings on halo!

he survived beause he has somthing in his blood which rejects the flood parasite. he escaped on a loan pelican along with 3 other men, a odst, a pilot, and a oni intel personal. see what no1 knows from the game is the mc cruised around halos debri for about 2 weeks and then upon finding survivors commandeered a cov cruiser which they then took back to reach to find the surviving spartans. also in between there they destroyed about 500 cov capital ships when they destroyed a cov staging base which was going to hit earth.
if i am right, i amy not b but one of them was david, and he died in the 1st book and stayed bak witha bomb in the cov. ship and MC and linda left... i never finished the 1st book or the others so that is all i know

Another peice of information that supports “Humans are Forerunner Decendans” theory is that the MC can operate Forefunner Panels. In the first Halo on the second level where you get to the bridge he turns it on and in the book it discribes it as “instinctive” to press that button.
I think that the Forerunners were not just 1 race, but thousands of races put toghether like the Covenant, spread through out the Galaxy, but they had made the Flood,1 by 1 the races of the Forerunners fell, they had 2 act fast, after the Halos were built they created the seed installation, its primary function was to repopulate the galaxy after ther fired the Halos. They also created the Ark, the main Seed Ship. It is invuneralbal to the Halo’s weapon, the Humans are called Reclaimers because 2 Humans inhabited the Ark, they eventually landed on Earth. Their mission was to “Reclaim” the Galaxy and reform the Forerunners, but they decided against it, reason unknown, and stayed on Earth. The Halos fired, the Forerunners Died, and the Seed ships repopulated the Galaxy, and the memory of the Forerunners was lost.
i like what scoprion says it makes sense, and to say the flood were found on the gas giant across from halo is stupid! cuz then how are they on halo delta dumbass?
