How do you know? What is the basis of your claim that “if there was a god” he would be like such and such? That takes more blind faith than studying and understanding something concrete like the Bible. According to you, that’s correct just because “you said so."
And you spoke of a man who donates to charity and is a genuinly nice guy. Please be honest here - do you know ANY human being in the history of the world who has been 100% genuinly a nice, completely selfless person all of the time? For instance - I used to be kind of like this - everyone thought I was just the model young man - nice to everyone, involved in church, etc. But you know what my motive was? - Selfishness, insecurity, pride, etc. I wanted to be nice so that people would think I was nice and that would make me feel better about myself. No think about this - is that GENUINE niceness and selflessness? No! I was concerned about myself the whole time!
I will remind you that life is much more than the outward appearance - it’s what goes on inside.
And you’re only partially right about the weseal scenario. I don’t believe that animals (other than humans) have souls. The Bible teaches that we are “made in God’s image” - we (humans) are the only animals that have souls. And I don’t believe that you do not have a soul - you do! Everyone does.

I’ve tried to communicate this clearly to you - I DO NOT think I’m better than you! In fact, I acknowledge that I struggle daily and am not morally perfect! I struggle with selfishness, lust, lying, etc. I DO NOT believe that I will go to heaven because I am better than anyone. I believe that I will go to heaven because Christ lived better than anyone. He made up for what I and everyone else cannot attian - perfection.
And it’s NOT exculsive! Christ died for everyone! That ALL may have eternal life. “For God so loved the WORLD..."!
Christianity actually robbed me of confidence in myself! It shows me who I really am...which is far from perfect. I’m afraid of a lot of things. But Christianity is not there just to help me not be afraid. Just because I am a Christian does not mean that bad things don’t happen in my life.

Again I ask - how do you know? Do you REALLY KNOW? Is this just blind faith? What is your faith in? Facts? Or just what makes you the most comfortable? Many people do this - it’s called idolatry - making a god to suit your needs. It makes you most comfortable to think that you will continue to exist somewhere better with other creatures. And Christianity obviously makes you uncomfortable. But does that make it not true? Thinking about all the people that die everyday in Iraq makes me uncomfortable but that does not make it untrue.
And you don’t know me as well as you think - I was not force fed Christianity as a child - I was force fed “church” but I did not know anything about the Bible. In fact, I did not believe the Bible to be true. I always figured there was a god of some kind but it had no effect on my life. I actually began to realize the truth of it all not even in church - it happened when I was in college, far from a church.
Please Weasel - you continue to make very universal claims that make you feel good. But have you REALLY examined them?

It sounds like you’ve embraced atheism because you’ve had some bad experiences with Christianity. I say this because most of what you’ve written about - the problems you have with Christianity and the things that make you mad are actually not true! Many people that call themselves Christians might make you think so - but Biblical Christianity is different.
Please - don’t just take what I write with a grain of salt. I’m not out to prove anyone wrong or make anyone look stupid. I’m not out to condemn anyone or act like I’m better than anyone.
I’m trying to defend Biblical Christianity not for my own sake but for your’s and anyone else who’s reading. There’s so much truth there if you’ll just give it some thought. I’m on your side Weasel. I’m trying to be rational here. I hope you will do the same.

If god really loves us so much as you seem to claim, why is it that his message was only brought to the people of the middle east, and if you beleive in the morman bible, america, and no where else? Seems to me it’s a little unfair to say that everyone who doesn’t beleive in god will burn in hell, when there are people who were never informed that there supposedly is a god, and they’ll suffer eternal damnation because if they dont beleive in him.
