Taking an idea from the suggestions thread, the theme this week is Half-Life.
Now, as far as I’m concerned that can be about the video game (1 or 2), or any other interpretation of the term “half-life” you can come up with.
Submissions for entries will close Friday the 24th at 11:30am to make things easier. If anyone has a problem with that...ummmm, too bad. But really, just let me know, we can always change it

p.s.And nobody get their panties in a bunch, the Halloween-esk theme will run next week, though this theme should be a good appetite wetter for those that can’t wait.
Alright, well if there’s no interest this week that’s fine. If there less then two entries by Friday then we’ll just start the next one in place of the voting.
Just thought I’d try to keep it going, but I’m busy this week as well.
In addition to that...if you’ve never won a SOTW before...this would be a very good opportunity to do so!
I think i might make something and I will holla at micky to make something too..just have to wait a lil bit and we should get something in for this week. afterall it would be a shame to miss a week.
Well, not a biggy, I think its a busy time of year.
And interest often ebbs and flows.
If it doesn’t happen the next one will be #42 and it’ll be as if this never happened...OOOOoooooOOOO(that’s a scary “OOOOoooOOOO” by the way)
If you don’t enter one, then the voting for the halloween-esk one will end on the 31st. Otherwise the voting starts on the 31st. Though either way it works.
Anyway, I wont be around here at noon to see if we need to start voting or start a new comp. If someone else could do that please...

So do I..Indeed I have a fear sig ready to be made up.
Though I think if we just ditch the whole “theme” thing and have it freestyle all the time it would be a lot better. But I do not have high hopes for it coming back this time.

The Freestyle thing is actually a good idea. Maybe if we just kept it that way, the SOTWs would be more active, as they were, but not like they are now.

remember how I said one shit theme can cripple the comp.....well thar you go. We had a shit theme or perhaps two due to the low turn out of entires for politics and lookie whats happened..ITS DEAD!!!
Before, people wopuld have gone mad over a half life one, but now...nobody gives a shit...which is dissapointing and saddening in equal measures.
Nothing teaches a lesson like experiance. Tried to warn you but now...well my experiance is now your experiance.

The Freestyle thing is actually a good idea. Maybe if we just kept it that way, the SOTWs would be more active, as they were, but not like they are now.
Well as it is there’s a freestyle about, Iunno, every month or something. Maybe inverting it and having a theme every month with the rest being freestyle would attract more contenders.

I think it may more have to do with the fact that half of the regular entrants have left the site.
Check out the “Sig-Of-The-Week-Winners”, you’ll see that there are a few weeks where there was only 2 entries in a row, or only 3 or 4 for a couple weeks.
Anyway, what it takes is someone to continue on. I’ve had several people mention that they really wanted to make a Halloween sig.
Sorry I didn’t get it going but I’ve been busy, I’ve got a midterm tomorrow and a lab due on Thursday.
(I’m only checking in 'cause my hair needs to dry a bit before I bike up to school or I’m going to freeze)
I don’t know if anyone will enter...but I’m going make the “fear” halloween one anyway...at least then people have an option of entering or not.
If after that you want to be done with themes that’s fine, and if no one enters this next one then let it rest for awhile until there’s renewed interest.
