Welcome to the SOTW Management, suggestions, complaints, and a bunch of other stuff related to MvC’s SOTW competition.
Here at the MvC SOTW we always have three things going on:
1) Entering a new competition.
2) Voting on the previous competition.
3) Voting for the next SOTW theme.
Please read the following rules before doing any of those three things:
Management
Entries:
*Must be your original creation (no ripping)
*Must not have been previously entered in a SOTW
*Must be a reasonable size (500x200)
*Must follow the posting rules of The Lounge.
Voting threads:
*Everyone needs to read the pre-ramble before voting and follow the requests (i.e. bold votes)
*Keep chit-chat to a bare minimum
*Use user accounts instead of guest names
Etiquette
There is no need for “those/that sig(s) suck”. Particularly from those who didn’t even bother to enter in the first place.
Theme Thread
*Read all the information in the first post of this thread.
*Keep chit-chat to a bare minimum, posts that stray off-topic will be deleted.
Wrong topics in this forum
This forum is not about request or showing off your photoshop skills. It a contest forum. If you have topics like that post it in the arts/Creativity forum. So stop lol
Current problems - suggestions needed
Rules
We need to get some rules up quick. Something to prevent ripping and stuff.
Now I want to prevent ripping in our SOTW topics. If you are suspected of ripping and get asked for the psd, then show us. Its nothing personal and we’re not trying to knock you out of the competition But it is a serious offense and you can get disqualified from SOTW.
Participation
Any ideas on how to increase participation in our SOTW? It’s ok to have low numbers sometimes, but overall it’s a lot more fun when more members are participating.
I can think of a rule to let some kind of paint shop in. Like “the whole sig can not be paint, it must have an image or render in it with your paint text." or something within those guidelines.
Actually, The next SOTW is still undecided, however there was talk of perhaps a members choice where the competitors would be given a theme by another member.
Like I said in the other thread. People who use paint arent even creating there own sigs...they are just copying images off the net and using it as an entry.

Okay..
So what if someone drew something in paint than entered it, would that be allowed?

That is a good point and the first rule of SOTW is the SIG has to be your own work, not just copied for somewhere else.
Hmmm.
That does throw up some interesting light on the situation.
Appolagies to ANTI-MVC for not realizing this earlier. Lack of sleep, crying babies and paint fumes have all dulled my brain of late

Most people know if the image was ripped or not. If they made it then it will be allowed.
The only way I can think of making and image in the background is by crop and add text.
But where I have been for the past few months ripping = death lol
