I’m not a huge action fan, but Ilike DBZ for its drama. The story is good v. evil in its purest form. The over the top fights are not the premise, but a backdrop for character development. One thing though, DBZ in english is kind of corny. The Japanese version is more adult orientated and dramatic. Greates anime ever is a toss up between DB and Eva.

The horrible truth was realized, and goku could only clutch his chest in pain, as 19 took clear advantage of this and brought are mighty warrior down. this comming as a surprise, to us all, always knowing thats goku saves the day unfortunately this time he could not. Sudddenly vegeta pops onto the scene and he turns into a Super sayain! Again a major shock, to tell the audiance to keep wathcing this action packed episodes! vegeta makes short work of 19 and gero flees. Later in the saga goku’s son Gohan turns a level beyond ssj, he goes ssj2! An even higher level, and as we see him put his skills to the test against cell. We see cell is no match for gohan, although some conflict goes on in between this battle (goku and king ki dieing) gohan is able to put cell away with a one hand kamehameha wave. And so the Buu saga begins. Do i have to continue? this anime was one of the greatest of all time. Thats why it sold soo many game copies, video copies and dvd copies. It was the best anime so far in my and i know many others, eyes. This anime had a great storyline, not going to say it was the best storyline, but come on when you think about it, it was damn decent! DBZ’s alright. I don’t care much for plot though. The only problem I have with it is that they started to wtf destroy planets, which didn’t make much sense when you really think about it.
One piece is better. It has the highest manga sales of all times, 170 million and is still ongoing while DBZ is a close second, having 150 million. Naruto and Bleach is not a factor. They have not even breach the 100 million mark.
I have watched animes shows for 20 years, started at 1989, Watched CowboyBepop, FA, NGE, One Piece, Bleach, Ranma, Naruto, Hakyoshi, Inuyasha, Higarashi, Ghost Hound, Etc. I can tell you Dragonball/z is the best anime ever!

TTGL stomps DBZ in anime department. You can’t deny the fact that DBZ has so many repetitiveness that it hurts.
Fullahead Coco is way better manga than Dragonball.

Cell was more like a reacall of RR. Buu was cool for me but the story line was not exactly the best one.
The cool thing of TTGL is that with only 27 chapters they did a great job.
