Yeah as Indalecio said Goku and Frieza or other characters have different and unique qualities.
Piccolo could lose an arm but it is not big deal for him. Broly’s body is so big and Resistant that it is hard to hurt him... but a “small wound” around or in his scar (the one he got when he was a baby) could be fatal for him. As contrast Buu’s body relatively seems to be easy to cut or destroy but since he can regenerate, it can be a hell of trouble to kill him and he could fight for hours or maybe even for days without rest. Frieza as Indalecio said could survive fatal wounds and live in space. But Goku died with Piccolo’s blast ( a small wound compared to Frieza’s wounds) and with a planet explosion (cell’s saga) and can not live in space.
An important comparison here is that Frieza survived the explosion of Namek (a bigger planet than Earth) But Goku was not capable of surviving the explosion produced by cell (smaller than Namek planet explosion)
Maybe this is because Goku can not survive great temperatures and massive energy.
Some true facts about Goku
-Goku can produce enought energy to destroy a planet and maybe more than one planet with one ultimate blast.
-But Goku can not survive a planet explosion or same amount of energy.
-He is almost so fast as light and IT lets him go anywhere (but he needs a ki target)
-Goku seems to be sensible or even vulnerable to hot and/or cold temperatures.
-As ssj4 (not canon by the way) can resist the temperature of sun’s surface (around 5000 K). But the core of the sun is many many times hotter than the surface.
-As ssj4 using his max physical strenght he is capable of holding the half of a city (but with some effort and trouble)
-Apparently it seems that in the anime Kid Buu can not destroy planets that are the same size as supreme kai world or bigger. Since Goku ssj3 was almost the same level as Kid Buu, we could say Goku can’t do the same thing.
-Goku can’t stand for so long as ssj3 or ssj4. If I am not wrong according to the databook, the ssj2 and ssj3 (specially ssj3) depends in the amount of ki of the user. We could say that ssj3 is like using a kamehameha, but instead of releasing this energy, Goku keeps it to power up his body and skills. (This is why using a kameha while using ssj3 was too risky). SSj1 has the advantage that it does not consume important energy at all.
-His most letal move is the IT warpkamehameha
-His strongest but slowest attack is the spirit bomb. (energy from others and is not effective against all oponents, it depends against who is used the spirit bomb.)
-The spirit bomb can be dodged
-Goku is not immortal.
With this we see that:
-Goku can realease enought energy to destroy planets.
-But his body is not strong enough to receive proportionately the same amount of energy that Goku can emit.
-His most useful attack is the IT warpkamehameha. It is hard to escape and it is a direct impact.
My opinion:
Goku can do it fine in Marvel or DC comics, but he is not the strongest character ever created.
I am not an expert with comics. But I think there are many characters that could solo the dragonball/z/Gt universe alone.

17 and 18 specifically tried not to kill them. They were just fucking around basically. Also they used choke holds to knock them out. SSJ Trunks defeated Frieza VERY easily, and he never needed his sword. Trunks is VERY VERY VERY below the Androids at that point and he wasn’t even exerting himself against Frieza.
When he fights the Androids he exerts his full power, and it doesn’t phase the androids, who are just fucking around with him. So no, Frieza would be destroyed easily with a single punch from 17 or 18.

Um no, Vanishing Ball fully charged up was never used directly on the planet ever. Not only this, but Kid Buu wanted to fight Goku, he didn’t want to destroy the planet. If he had wanted to destroy the planet he would have.
