What are Lelouch's limits?

I realize he can only use the Geass on a person once, but does it have any limits? Like could he use it on some one like Goku or non human things?

He can’t use it on C.C.

Oh and he used it on a God, so he should be able to enslave Goku if he can make eye-contact.

Hell yes. Confusing as fuck on the first watch though, you will have to watch it on youtube again to get the full gist of it.
