A lot of people like lolita. It’s just popular in Japan, which many cute things are. Either perverted or just aesthetics, lolita culture is something in Japan not to be played with. Look at some visual kei bands; you’re sure to see some gothic lolita all up and down the place.
As for the porn, social deviants are more prominent in Japan, for some reason. I think because, to some degree, it’s okay to think of women as sexual objects, but I’m sure that’s gonna change sooner or later.

Pretty much. I mean, the comics and cartoons targeted at teenage boys are full of ecchi, swearing and violence etc, and the ones targeted at girls are full of heavily implied sex.
