Star Ocean 3: TtEoT is a classic PS2 RPG, one of the best for the console. The Story revolves around the protagonist Fayt Leingod. The Story starts with an alien race called the Vendeeni kidnapping Fayt’s parents and his childhood friend Sophia while they are on vacation on a resort planet named Hyda IV. Fayt escapes the attempt to kidnap his parents by taking an escape pod to another world. From the the story mostly concerns him attempting to rescue his parents and friend, until he does at by which point it is revealed that they were kidnapped in an attempt to stop the advance of powerful creatures, thought to be gods.
The story continues with revelation after revelation. It turns out that their universe is just a video game for a higher dimension of humans who created them, and that Fayt’s universe has gotten advance to the point that they can compromise the 4th dimension. So the creatures that were thought to be gods were just agents of the 4-D beings sent to delete the offending galaxies and planets. At the end of the day Fayt and his party travel to the 4th dimension and defeat the beings responsible for the attempted destruction of their universe.
Star Ocean in general in a deadly universe with universal threats, planet destroying magics, hax reality warping artifacts and big bads, as well as powerful sci fi tech; nothing changes with this installment. However being the first of the series to use the PS2’s power we get some nice cutscenes that help us powerscale and give good feats.
With the feats are given in the game, exposition, the games own dictionary, and powerscaling Fayt’s party becomes on of the most powerful and deadly RPG crew’s I’ve ever seen. Feats for the protagonists in this series include BS like hax physics defying special abilities, an entire race of people naturally fast enough to dodge lasers, a company of people who can “hack” any attribute in the known universe (if its digital), beings who can travel at and fight at FTL speeds and country-planet bust (Fayt beats many of these), and returning from none existence because they wanted to.
I’ll run through the main characters and some enemies/factions and provide as much information as possible.
