Well I have heard people say he can survive in space. Because his father Bardock went up into space. It is a interesting topic. Also here is the scan I was talking about where Freeza says that Goku can’t survive in space. But people say he still can.

Debate

I think the he means in a more clearer perspective, his race can’t survive on a planet or in the known universe not as long freiza is still around, since he was the “zomg 1mil warrior!" So if goku was a littler weaker he be the one given no pity by freeza and be destroyed.

Manga = Goku can’t survive in space. Freeza is referring to Goku’s death, either from the explosion, or the fact that he can’t survive in space.

Movies = Probably, since Broly created a ki shield and that could hold air. Goku could easily do the same thing if he realized. We could also assume this technique would work in the manga, since they can create ki shields. However, whether they trap air or not is debatable, and Goku hasn’t the speed of a faster than light ship so his air would run out in the what... thousands of years it takes him to get home (and he would use IT later anyway).

As for Bardock? Who trusts the movies anyway? Can all of those aliens who were with Freeza breathe in space? I guess we could assume they were in the high upper atmosphere.

I’m sorry, I thought you mean about planet surviving not actually be in outer space and just staying up there. Well his planet never show clear sky or clouds always night showing space (like krypton)but it did had atmosphere, so no he can’t.

Oh, he helped make it as well. It would be good to have a list here of the outside manga Dragonball projects he was involved in.

He can. Here’s a manga scan of his father doing fine in space.

He can’t survive long periods of time in space, but as show many times, sayins are unaffected by the vaccums of space, and can speak without breath without hesitation for minutes.

When has it been shown that they can’t stay out there for more than a few minutes? I don’t think that’s ever been proven due to the fact that they’ve never had a need to be out there for more than a few minutes time.

Run that by me again, because that didn’t really answer my question. You said they couldn’t survive for long periods of time in space. Why not? The only reason I could think of would be flying into a star (or something of that nature) or startvation.
