Ratchet vs. Jak

He felt cold metal on the back of his forehead.

“Decoy glove works every time."

“Uh... I wouldn’t happen to be feeling a RY3NO against the back of my skull, right?"

“Wow, you actually knew what gun I pulled out! I wonder if you know how it feels like!"

again, Ratchet would own jak’s ass.

whatever Ratchet threw at him, Jak would heal with light regeneration. He can also block everything with his light shield.

Everyone says the magic words: Jak has a shield and the attacks can’t penetrate Jak’s field blah blah blah. HELLO! If you haven’t noticed, Ratchet has a shield too. And is better beacuse it has unlimited time of use. Jak’s shield drains light Jak eco in 25-30 seconds approx. And if Ratchet surprises Jak with a sneak attack (like the one I mentioned earlier) Jak cannot perform the time freeze ability beacuse IS A SNEAK ATTACK and he is ancient history. now that’s what I call the REAL epic conclusion.

Actually, Ratchet’s shield depletes with damage. One hit of the Supernova would take down ratchet’s shield and then some. So while Jak’s shield goes down with time, he has a longer time to use than Ratchet (in this fight at least).

and besides, if Ratchet threw a decoy and Jak fell for it and froze time, he would have waisted quite a bit of his light eco. Now, I refrain from saying all of it because each use uses 1/2 of his reserves (I too own all three Jak games and all 4 Ratchet games), and by the second time, he’d know that something was up. But then there’s the argument that the RYNO 2 wouldn’t leave Jak enough time to stop time. It takes jack about 2 seconds to change into light jak and 1 second to stop time. And once he uses it once, he reverts back to normal, and he’s vulnerable for about 1 second, which is enough for ratchet to blast his ass if he survives the first time stop.

Actually you’ll notice that while Jak changes into light mode, the time around him temporarily stops.

Also, the RYNO 2, while powerful, is not enough to take out Jak with one hit. Jak has taken a lot of damage from a lot of things and is still here. If Ratchet got a hit with the RYNO 2 before Jak could freeze time Ratchet would give away his position. Then Jak would heal himself (should the damage be that much) and whip out the super nova and it’s bye bye Ratchet.

Actually, I am going to say that this will be a tie:

my reasoning:

At first they would duke it out with their best weapons (Ratchet with the RYNO, Jak with the nova) and each would block with their respective shields.

Eventually Jak would try a dark bomb on Ratchet, but Ratchet could block it in some way or another, either by decoy glove or using the charge boots to evade it (if the charge boots can go that fast).

Ratchet would then try to use what I believe is his most effective gun: the Rift Ripper. Jak would freeze time when he fired but with time slow the force of a black hole is still very great. Jak would be trying his hardest to escape and while still sped up, would fire a nova at defenseless Ratchet.

Eventually time would go back to normal and Jak would be sucked into the black hole. They both die. The end.

But what about Ratchet’s zodiac?
It’s like a supernova attack. That thing could kill Jak too if Ratchet sneaks up on him.
And if Ratchet performs a sneak attack against Jak, that won’t even give Jak 1 second to counter the attack. Ninja Ratchet is more powerful, quicker and agile than Jak. If you haven’t seen Ninja Ratchet, get all of the exterminator cards in Ratchet Deadlocked.

But Ninja Ratchet is only unlocked with a “cheat”.

I don’t have all the exterminator cards. You’re supposed to get one for beating the game on exterminator and I did and still didn’t get one >=(

Also, the Zodiac is pretty hard to miss, Jak would be able to see it.

Also, if Ratchet can use his ship then Jak should be allowed to use the Dark Maker robot, and if he does Ratchet has no chance.

If Ratchet shoots the Rift Ripper to Jak as a sneak attack It will suck Jak before he attacks him?

well it depends. Jak is too big to be sucked up by a normal rift (he is 5’11, according to Jak X’s profile of him, and the only thing the regular one can suck up is the 3-foot tyrranoids) and by the time Ratchet launched the 2nd one Jak would know what is going on and do everything he could to stop it.

1. He will miss it anyway beacuse Ratchet is behind him and Jak won’t notice him if he sneaks up on Ratchet.

2. And I repeat: Jak won’t know who’s on the speedy ship blowing him to smithereens with the nuclear device.

Well it’s not like Jak isn’t going to notice a small black hole next to him.

Also, if Ratchet is in his ship Jak can use the Dark Maker robot, and in that case Ratchet is beyond toast. Precursor technology donchaknow.

I know what the rift ripper does, but Jak is almost 6 feet tall and Ratchet would need to fire two rounds for them to fuse to be able to suck up Jak.

Ratchet WILL shoot two of them in less than 2 seconds and will suck Jak, in a sneak attak BEHIND Jak, so he doesn’t know who’s behind him. Jak can’t react to the attack beacuse he’s being sucked so he’s dead.

but the Rift Inducer does not have that fast of a fire rate. And as soon as Jak felt the gravity he would either get out of there or use flash freeze.

Or Ratchet would take Jak’s half second of confusion (about the gravity thing) and shoot the pants out of Jak with the RY3NO lv 5 (which disintegrates him) or with the zodiac which has almost the same effect as the supernova or he just can use both guns (it may be possible) and blow him to pieces. Besides, Ratchet had commando training and survived two grueling challenges: the impossible challenge and the qwarktastic challenge.
