Thor is a Norse God....
Norse God’s are very power hungry beings, they are also blood thirsty, beings like this in the Silmerillion were stated to be the most corruptible of all....
Sauron can also use sorcery to cause Thor to flee in terror. Or strike Thor with amped fireballs, burning magma, and colossal lightning bolts, and even meteorites and atomic explosions of flame. And trust me, the kinetic explosion from the Mace combined with everything else I just stated in this paragraph, will damage Thor, a lot.
