i play Metroid and the space pirates suck they r just there to make samus concentrate 4 a while the covenant coul definetly beat them (whos the covenant?) seriously...
well the space pirates do have the omega pirate and a small army of elite pirates and a phazon elite. but i think any covenant could take on a omega pirate
you said that a hunter could just walk up to a pirate and just ram it do you no how slow hunters are and what if it was 1 of the pirate with the jetpacks they’re just fly over the hunter and shoot it all over as far as elites thet could just bring out space commando pirates or generals with their gernade launchers and blast them
hunters armor deflects everything bt bombs, the hunters have fuel rod cannons, elites are bigger than pirates.jackals can snipe remember, and brutes can barely be killed by plasma grenades, why would they die from a fewrounds from, well my point is,it would take more than 1 pirate to take out a brute,oh and a grunt could win the whole war,im just joking about the grunt, but i mean everything else.

Warning! Much to read up ahead. Kraid is a gaint lizard, here’s more data on him:
He might be less known than his fellow Pirate Enforcer Ridley, but make no mistake; he is just as intelligent and cunning as the Zebesian space dragon and infamous in his own way.
In fact Kraid can strike fear in the heart or hearts of any other creature by just appearing on the scene, as he is one of the largest intelligent beings in existence that roams the galaxy. Easily crushing a medium class grav tank by simply standing on it, although he prefers to rip it open and feast on its occupants while still in a non-crushed state.
During pirate attacks on colonies Kraid fills the postion of backbone of a pirate task force, he brings in the muscle that is needed to take down heavy fortifications, gun emplacements, trenched in enemy forces and take on any heavy armour such as a grav tanks, artillery and fighter craft that might be used by opposing military and security personnel.
Kraid originates from a world that underwent a development process almost similar to that of Earth/Sol 3, the home world of the human species. Reptilian life forms here too evolved far faster than other species, developing in various forms and becoming gigantic in size
But unlike on Earth, no cataclysm suddenly hit the world and disrupted the eco system, allowing the reptilian based life forms on Kraid’s home world to continue to develop, crushing any member of a different order that would try to compete with them, both in a figure of speech and literally.
As Kraid’s ancestor’s brains became bigger and far more complex in working, signs of intelligence such as the skill to memorize identify and rudimentary language started to develop. Slowly they formed a primitive society as Kraid’s ancestors learned too that numbers gave strength.
The following millennia were very violent, as the reptilian species had discovered a new opponent: themselves. What started with the earliest conflicts about hunting grounds and possible mates developed into full wars as nations started to rise and competed with each other over the resources of the planet.
When the Space Pirates discovered Kraid’s home world the people on it had reached the industrial age level by now, but the planet had been turned into a wasteland by the various warlords that competed with each other for control of the planet.
Kraid was one of those warlords, and while his campaign had been successful, his army lacked the strength to take out his remaining opponents and keep full control of the territories he had captured were still plagued with unrest.
Realizing the usefulness of having the reptilian species as an ally, the Space Pirates monitored the conflict between the various factions from orbit, searching for a faction leader that might be interested in an alliance with the pirates.
As Kraid was the best candidate for this the Pirates approached him, offering to assist his forces with their own soldiers and technology as well as a place for Kraid within the ranks of the Pirate Legions.
Kraid accepted the offer of the Pirates and accepted the terms of their alliance, not so very long after he became the absolute master of his own home world thanks to the Pirates. In return his people would assist the Space Pirates in what way needed, Kraid himself would take a position as an Enforcer in their Legions, leading their forces in the field of battle.
When the Pirates were surveying the world of Zebes, they discovered the region known as Brinstar and the huge variety of biological richness it contained. Pirate scientists recognized the usefulness of Brinstar fauna and flora for their own biological research program but as some of the resident life forms were incredible aggressive someone was needed to keep the region under control.
As Brinstar was comparable with his own native world Kraid decided to build his own lair in Brinstar from which he oversees it and its inhabitants. His firm control over Brinstar has gained him the title of “King of Brinstar”
Although Kraid is definitely male member of his species, he is capable of a rather unique feature of reproduction by ‘shedding' genetic material in form of a pod from his body. Not long after being shed off this pod starts a startling transformation as its outer skin slowly breaks down, revealing a ‘nymph' of Kraid’s species.
The nymph’s genetic structure is a hundred percent match with Kraid’s own genetic structure, making the nymph a sort of natural clone. A process that before this discovery was only thought to be used by certain insect species, not by a genetic complex creature such as a being from reptilian descent, let alone an intelligent life form.
However this action is not easily performed and it takes a lot of Kraid’s body to create a nymph through this process. Kraid prefers to keep his ‘offspring' as close as possible to him at all time, preventing them of being caught in the line of battle.
Kraid is almost a walking fortification; no battlefield weapon can pierce his densely scaled skin that has energy scattering and concussion resisting properties. In theory probably only a low orbital heavy bombardment would have the necessary power to wound or perhaps even kill him however Kraid does have one significant weakness, as his nasal cavity is to small to breath through during for example a battle, Kraid has to open his mouth from time to time to catch breath.
During this his one vulnerable part becomes visible, the inside of his mouth which can be easily pierced by energy, projectile and concussion weaponry. With enough concentrated force and the right timing, a missile or energy beam can go through the roof of the mouth and hit Kraid’s brain. Kraid usually tries to prevent this by keeping his claws in front of his mouth when he has to breathe.
Also, the Space Pirates are much more althletic that the elites, and they demonstrate the same and more skills the covanent possess, such as laser swords and cloaking. Ridley is also a huge Space Pirate weapon, here’s some more data, but on Ridley.
If beings such as the Mother Brain and the Pirate ‘brain’ caste are the brains behind the Space Pirate Legions, than Ridley would be one of its many hearts. The Zebesian space dragon known as Ridley is the chief enforcer of the Space Pirate Legions, performing the will of the pirate’s leaders and leading their forces into battle. Even the common Space Pirate warriors feel rather nervous when they are working with the enforcer as he does not shun sarcificing replaceable warriors if needed to take out any force standing in their way
Behind the fierce appearance of the Zebesian dragon goes a very intelligent and cunning creature. Capable of assessing a situation within seconds and altering his strategy if needed to make sure that the mission will be succesful It is this determination, intelligence and his brutality that make Ridley such an infamous opponent, having led pirate forces for several decades, attacking ships and colonies all over Federation space, and killing military personnel and civillians without any regard.
The origins of Ridley are a little less clear than his reputation as only a few records have been written about Ridley and his species, even the long lived Chozo civilization have written very little on the dragon species. Only a conversation with Ridley himself would clear up the past around his kind, seeing as that is impossible Federation scientists will have to do with the what the Chozo managed to learn.
Ridley’s species was first encountered on the planet Zebes. The Chozo who had inhabited Zebes for a while made several records during archeaological digs about the ruins of a unknown civilization that seemed to have existed in the regions of Zebes known as Norfair. However the Chozo never encountered any living specimen of this civilization.
However after the Space Pirates took control of the planet Zebes an undetermined time ago, Ridley appeared on the scene. There are several theories on why a member of this long disappeared species appeared back in Galactic Society. Perhaps the Space Pirates managed to locate genetic material of one of the remains of the dragon species and used their genetic revivication technology to restore the creature that would be known as Ridley.
Another theory is that the dragon species is very long lived (a life span in centuries rather than years) or use some form of hibernation techniques or technologies to ‘sleep’ for long periods until the time is right to come out again. Perhaps far in the distant past Zebes was far more habitable for the dragon species, allowing thousands or millions of them to thrive there. But the changing climate, either naturally or due to some unforseen cataclysm forced the dragon species underground. In time even forcing them to hibernate until the conditions would change and allow the dragons to come out.
The Federation will probably never get any answer on these questions as all not yet discovered information on the dragon species was destroyed along with the planet Zebes. For some peculiar reason Ridley’s shape corresponds with that of a creature known as a dragon in the human species mythology. As the first intelligent beings outside the Space Pirates that had the unfortunate luck of ‘meeting’ Ridley were humans, the name was mentioned on surviving data storage tapes and later adapted by the rest of the Galactic Federation in future encounters with the Pirate enforcer.
Like the mythical reptile, Ridley is capable of breathing ‘fire’, although scientifically correct it would be plasma that is generated in a series of chambers inside Ridley’s throat and head, exiting from his mouth at any possible targets. When in combat Ridley relies on his own natural defenses than any fabricated weapons. His strength combined with his razor sharp talons, extendable tail and his plasma projection ability makes any form of weaponry unnecesary in a battle as Ridley is practically a weapon himself.
Ridley is both capable of flight in an atmosphere as well as in space due to unique organs in his wings, capable of generating gravity waves similar to those generated by the more exotic repulsor drive that some Federation vessels employ. This gives Ridley the ability to move through space on speeds lower than those of the speed of light, however even Ridley needs a vessel to safely enter Hyperspace and exit from it. Ridley’s skin and natural armour is thick enough for him to survive atmospheric re-entry as well as leaving a planet’s atmosphere. It also protects him from attacks from most energy weapons as well as impacts from concussion weaponry such as missiles. Only a prolonged attack has any success to pierce Ridley’s skin and wound him.
Note:After the first time Space Hunter Samus Aran defeated Ridley in battle, Space Pirate scientists revivicated Ridley in a new form. Next to his natural abilities the scientists also grafted several weapon systems such as a Multi-Missile System, a Kinetic Breath Weapon, a Meson Bomb Launcher, and an Ultrathermal Flamestrike Projector, as well as armour upgrades.
space pirates actually have a mutiple of speces like kraid is 10 times the size of a hunters and could easily shread any of the covenant and space pirates comandos have beam swords guns and grenades like elites but are faster and have enrgy shields that block alot more. not only that the space pirates have ridely and much more explosive turret guns. Every space pirate has a sword and a gun but space pirates are extrmely fast. In case some metroid fan havent noticed that the puffers which are called preeds are space pirates. they both have flying troops but the space pirate troops can shoot up to 8 missles that home in. whether you think the armies are strong or not ridely could just kill them all with ease.
You have to look at this from a battle point of view. If the total army of each race met there would be no contest. The covenant would win hands down. Their armies are probably billions strong, not to mention the many thousands of wraiths, banshees etc. The Space Pirates would have less than 1% the numbers. I don’t know if you’ve notices but space pirates are very dumb in comparison to elites, if you compare the AI. This is a pretty dumb argument anyway, but it’s clear that the covenant would win.
1.Covies Glass Space Pirate homeworld/spacestation/whatever it is.
2.Arbiter takes Elites,Grunts,Hunters and leaves, and Covies lose.
3.Pirates win because of Covies loss of their most powerful forces.
4.Everyone loses
5.Space Pirates win
if you look at that all the capital letters spell cape, totally accidental.
