Thanos without the Gauntlet would still win.

first of all manchester, i dont think that at all. im just giving thanos his power up, just like what i did to supes(sundipped). so, im making this fight as fair as i can.

uhhhh, sunweb no, the fight will be in the marvel universe. why would i even bother giving thanos the gauntlet if he cant even use it?

The thing is though with the Gauntlet it kinda is unfair.

im sure you superman buffs can think of something that can give supes the edge. supes has a lot of feats and ridiculous feats at that.

Thanos takes it with or without the gauntlet. He’s at a least a tier above Superman’s best.

really? i know thanos is powerful but, is he really that powerful? i mean, superman can shatter dimensions when he was fighting earth2 superman.

Pretty much. Thanos throws down with guys like Odin, Tyrant, Beyonder; heck he even had a short bout against Galactus mano e mano. That, and he schools entire teams of heroes at a time. He makes guys like Thor, Hulk, Quasar, Champion with the Power Gem, and the Silver Surfer look like fools.

It makes sense for him to be so powerful; he’s a mutant Eternal that has had numerous magical, cosmic, and scientific upgrades. He last upgrade was from Death herself, IIRC.

and thanos did these without the gauntlets? superman did withstood the omega effect and pushed a planet that has the power of the big bang while sundipped(thats according to trackz).

That is correct. No Gauntlet involved.

IMO, Superman is beast on Thor’s level. Thanos is another level above.

Supes and the rest of the DCU (including Darkseid) beat the Antimonitor. And that was Pre-Crisis Superman, which is vastly stronger than the current version.

He’s a powerful guy; no one is debating that! Thanos simply runs with a higher crowd. Supes does have some rabid fans, however; almost as bad as Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine and *cough* Mega Man *cough* fans! ^_^'

then why do supes fans use a pre crisis feat in a goku vs post crisis superman debate? talk about fanboyism.

If the DBZ threads in question did not state which version of Superman would be involved, I can see how that would be a problem. People need to be specific about which characters are involved, since many characters have multiple versions.

As to Superman Prime vs Thanos, SMP wins. From what I understand, he plays at the Skyfather level and above (Thanos is just under high Skyfather level, as far as combat goes). Now if you’re talking Superboy Prime, Thanos has a chance. He could use SBP’s red radiation weakness against him, unless Emo-boy is wearing his armor.

well,, maybe thanos is under SMP in terms of combat, but in terms of power? specially thanos using the gauntlet? who was the superman with the sword again? maybe thats a good weapon against the gauntlet.
